Role Overview
The Senior Technician – Endoscopy is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and smooth functioning of endoscopy services within the hospital. The role involves preparing and maintaining endoscopy equipment and accessories, assisting doctors during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, and ensuring proper disinfection, sterilization, and maintenance of endoscopes in accordance with infection control and safety protocols. The Senior Technician also monitors patient vital signs, provides pre- and post-procedure care and patient education, and supports the delivery of high-quality patient care while working effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain endoscopy equipment and accessories
- Assist in performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures
- Ensure proper disinfection, sterilization and maintenance of endoscopes
- Monitor and record patient vital signs before, during and after procedures
- Ensure adherence to infection control policies and safety protocols
- Provide pre and post-procedure care and patient education
- Maintain accurate documentation & reporting
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma/BSc in Endoscopy Technology
- Minimum 8+yrs as Endoscopy Technician in a reputed hospital
- Hands on experience in handling endoscopy equipment
- Knowledge of infection control, disinfection and sterilization processes,
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in shifts and handle high-pressure situations
